Forgotten Super Eagles star Simy Nwankwo scored twice to help Crotone to gain promotion back to Serie A after a 5-1 away win over Livorno at Armando Picchi.
The 28-year-old Nigeria international now has 20 goals after he first scored in the 35th minute, before he doubled his own personal tally from the penalty spot in the 59th minute.
After Mattia Trovato had given Livorno the lead just 12 minutes into the game with Crotone’s other scorers were Niccolo Zanellato (31st minute) and Alberto Gerbo (40th minute).
The victory confirms Crotone’s return to the Italian top flight after a two-year absence with nine points clear of third-place Spezia with just two games left in the regular season.
Nwankwo, who had only made five appearances for Super Eagles has bagged a total of 20 goals so far, making four assists in 35 league games for the Serie B side this season.
